From the article: Ugly Quilts Photo Gallery
Quiltmakers labeled all of the quilts in this gallery "ugly." Many were first-quilts -- projects their makers regard as lessons learned.
How about some feedback? What would have improved a specific quilt? Or do you see a quilt you think needs no improvement whatsoever (judging from my emails, I know that's true for many). Your feedback can be a big help to beginning quilters who view the gallery, so take a few minutes to tell us what you think. Help "Fix" These Quilts
To All "Ugly" Quilt Makers
- First of all, I love every one of these ugly quilts. I make quilts like this on purpose, to use every bit of scraps. For all of you who do not like your quilts, remember that there are thousands of soldiers overseas who could really use a homemade quilt for the holidays. It is very cold in the Middle East at night this time of year. Box them up, and send them to a soldier you love! If you don't love a soldier, ask around. Someone you know does!! Happy Holidays!

I Spy
- This looks like an "I Spy" quilt a friend of mine made. Very nice. Maybe you could use a marble or tone on tone fabric for the borders.

Help for "What was I thinking?"
- How about sashing between motifs? I think that would separate the motifs and make it look good. The sashings could be the same color as the small border.

Purple Quilt
- I actually REALLY like the purple quilt. And I know that my parents would love it too (they really like purple). I think you did a great job.

I love Inge's snowball quilt!
- I think it is delightful - very cheerful. Any child (and many adults) would love it!

love the colors
- I think it's perfect! It reminds me of 1930 colors. It would be a great addition for a collector who just loves quilts.
