The Body in the Basement
- One of the Faith Fairchild series, this mystery includes quilts wrapped around two dead bodies. Katherine Hall Page's novel features reproduction quilts since many of the characters buy and sell antiques. Set in Maine, the book also includes recipes. I picked this up recently at a used book sale and enjoyed the unexpected twists in the plot.

Favorite books with quilting themes
- I have read the series by Jennifer Chiaverini and found them to be very entertaining, and informational, by no means boring. She writes about historical events and how the women used quilts to depict each era. One book is of quilt patterns. There also is a cook book of "old" recipes that are favorites of the main characters.

'Ghost Riders' by Sharyn McCrumb
- A double wedding ring quilt becomes an important part of the plot at the end of 'Ghost Riders,' when it helps protect the people sitting on it from unseen forces. I've read all of her books, but that's the quilt story that comes to mind. http://www.sharynmccrumb.com/
