Tell Us About Your Quilt Guild
Our guild is a very active guild. Our business meeting is on the first Thursday of every month and we offer a free workshop for members on the third Thursday of every month. We have about 140 members and our membership dues at this time are $15 per year. We send out a monthly newsletter full of information for our quilters. Our guild makes baby quilts for local charities, and we take occasional trips to visit quilt shops and quilt shows. We sometimes have potluck lunches during our workshops where we love to share recipes.
Tell Us About Your Quilt Show
Our guild sponsors a quilt show every other year. This year's quilt show is going to be on June 25-26 (2010) at the Owensboro Area Museum located at 122 E 2nd Street. There will be over 100 quilts exhibited as well as demonstrations and learning opportunities.
Advice
- The Owensboro Area Quilter's Guild offers monthly workshops that are free for members and are offered to nonmembers for $15 per workshop as space is available. Our workshops are hands-on opportunities to learn a new skill or learn to make a new project. Occasionally we even have potluck lunches during our workshops, which are always fun.
- We do make baby quilts for local charities.
