What made you choose the pattern?
My love of lighthouses and the picture block my sister gave me of the Coquille Lighthouse.
Did you finish the quilt? If not, why?
Yes I did. I couldn't quit until it was done.
What do you love (or hate) about the quilt?
I love the fact that I designed and sewed it myself from beginning to end.
What would you do differently next time?
Have a little more experience under my belt. For the first quilt it was great, but there is always more to do.
What was the most difficult aspect of the project?
Actually converting from the drawing to the placement and sewing of blocks. It was well worth it. It took looking at books and a lot of do overs to get the drawing done, and the quilters calculator was such a help with this. This quilt was a combination of learning how to create a quilt, then how to place the colors to emphasize the blocks with the lighthouses. I will create again and learn new lessons, which is what makes quilting so much fun.
