What made you choose the pattern?
My quilt is handmade with only embroidery stitches. I have 16 different squares, and it is hand quilted around each square to join them together. It is hand quilted all around the whole quilt.
Did you finish the quilt? If not, why?
Yes I did finish it and it took a year to make. It is full king size and it is hanging up on the wall on a wooden rod.
What do you love (or hate) about the quilt?
I love looking at it as it has so many different stitches and each square is unique. I used to put it on my bed every day and have scatter cushions that I embroidered on top it.
What would you do differently next time?
I don't think I would do anything different, but I don't think I would make another one for myself. I enjoyed doing it but it took a long time to finish.
What was the most difficult aspect of the project?
It was quite difficult on the fingers and the eyes doing the hand quilting as the stitches are very small and eye of the needle and the needle are also very small, but I still loved making it.
I think putting it together was the most difficult as I do not like using a sewing machine and that was the only way to put it together.
I also had to trapunto a lot of the squares and then put an inner between the top and bottom.
