When I won the block lotto
I was so excited to have won the "Heart In A Snowball" in February 2009. I had hoped to win the heart block the previous year, but did not. My daughter wanted me to make her a heart quilt quilt for a long time, and with my win, it was much, much easier to get it done.
Tips and Tricks
- I learned more about how to do applique (needle turn and faced method)
- Used the serger to make a Seminole border, a fast and easy method.
How I chose a setting for my quilt blocks
The edges surrounding the snowball block were purple. I wanted to bring out more of the purple, and since I had a bolt of purple fabric I decided to use it for sashing and the borders in a traditional setting.
