Arrange and Sew the Winged Square Quilt Blocks

  1. Arrange the blocks on a table or design wall, sorting them into three columns and choosing colors you feel work well together. Flip the blocks around until you are happy with the overall arrangement.

  2. Place a setting triangle cut from a 7" square along one side of each Winged Square unit as shown. Sew triangles to blocks and press seam allowances towards the setting triangle.

  3. Sew the two sets in each column together, matching center seams carefully. Press seam allowances towards the setting triangles.

  4. Fold corner triangles in half along their longest edges and finger crease. Sew a corner triangle to each corner of each column, matching the crease to the midpoint of each side of the block. Press seam allowances towards the corner triangles.
