Framed Nine Patch Quilt Block Cutting Instructions
Make 31 BlocksGold print for short bars: (4) 6-1/2" x selvage width strips; cut (62) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" bars from the strips
Muted rust for long bars: (4) 10-1/2" x selvage width strips; cut (62) 2-1/2" x 10-1/2" bars from the strips
Light neutral background print: (9) 2-1/2" x selvage width strips
Green print: (6) 2-1/2" x selvage width strips
Neutral and Green Strips for Nine Patch Unit
For top and bottom row of nine patch unit: you'll need to make (4) of the strip sets shown in pattern and cut (62) 2-1/2" segments
For middle row of nine patch unit: you'll need to make (2) of the strip sets shown in pattern and cut (31) 2-1/2" segments.

Five Patch Chain Quilt Block Cutting Instructions
Make 32 BlocksBlack print for four patch units: (16) 2-1/2" x selvage width strips
Neutral print for four patch units and center row: (18) 2-1/2" x selvage width strips
Deep burgundy for bars: (4) 4-1/2" x selvage width strips; cut (64) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" bars from the strips
Deep burgundy for strip pieced center rows (rather than sewing individual pieces together): (4) 4-1/2" x selvage width strips
- Sew the black print strips and neutral print strips together in pairs as shown in the block pattern. Cut a total of (256) 2-1/2" segments from the strip sets and make 128 four patch units.
- Sew a 4-1/2" x selvage width burgundy strip lengthwise to opposite sides of a 2-1/2" x selvage width neutral strip. Press seam allowances towards the burgundy strips. Repeat to make another strip set. Square up one end of each strip set and cut (32) 2-1/2" segments to form ready-made center rows.
- Complete block as shown in the pattern.
