Assemble the Christmas Star Quilt Blocks
Make the Corner UnitsThe corners are not shown broken down, but contain four units each (refer to drawing, upper left).
- Arrange a green/light half square triangle unit and a purple/light half square triangle unit as shown, upper row of the left corner unit. Create the second row with two purple/light half square triangle units. Be sure to arrange the units so that colors flow as shown.
- Sew components of each row together. Press seam allowance in top row towards the light unless the fabric is very sheer. Press seam allowance in bottom row in the opposite direction.
- Join the rows. Press seam allowance towards the top row.
- Repeat to make a total of 128 identical corner units (four per block).
Assemble the Quilt Block
- Arrange the components for one block into three rows as shown, left.
- Sew the components of each row together as shown, top right. Press seam allowances towards the center row. Press. The quilt block should measure 10-1/2" x 10-1/2".
- Make a total of 32 Christmas Star quilt blocks.
