Add Borders and Finish the Quilt
- Use 5" wide (lengthwise grain) strips of medium neutral fabric to make the borders for the quilt, assembling the side borders first to conserve fabric along the yardage. Beginners - don't be tempted to measure your quilt along its outer edges, because it is likely skewed a bit. Borders are an opportunity to square up the quilt before the finishing steps. - Mark the top for quilting if necessary. Sandwich with batting and backing and quilt. Finish by applying the binding.
