Finish the Starry Nights Quilt

Add Borders to the Quilt

  1. Use my straight border instructions to measure for borders and sew them to the quilt. Don't be tempted to take measurements along the sides of your quilt top -- it's likely skewed.

  2. Use 2-1/2" wide dark purple strips to create the inner narrow border. Sew to the quilt and press seam allowances either direction.

  3. Use 8-1/2" wide strips of pink fabric (cut on lengthwise grain) to create outer borders. That's pretty wide -- Make the border narrower if you like.

Finish the Quilt

Press the quilt and mark for quilting if necessary. Sandwich with batting and backing. Quilt and bind.
