Make 18 Spool Quilt Blocks
- Pair a 3-7/8" x 3-7/8" green square with a white/pink square of the same size. Use the easy sandwich method to create two half square triangle units from the squares. When complete, each should measure 3-1/2" x 3-1/2".
- Repeat with remaining 3-7/8" squares to make a total of 72 identical half square triangle units.
- Arrange four half square triangle units, two green squares, two white/pink squares and one green/pink square into three rows as illustrated.
- Sew the components of each row together. Press seam allowances in top and bottom rows towards the square. Press seam allowances in center row away from the center square.
- Sew rows together, matching seam intersections carefully. Press. The quilt block should measure 9-1/2" x 9-1/2".
- Repeat, making a total of 18 Spool quilt blocks.
