Miniature Quilt Nine Patch Blocks
- Gather the 1" x 33" light and medium dark 1 strips. Sew the strips together lengthwise, with the darker strip in the middle. Press seam allowances towards the dark strip.
- Use your rotary cutting equipment to square-up one end of the strip set, then cut thirty-two 1" segments from the set.
- Gather one 1" x 17" light strip and two 1" x 17" medium dark 1 strips. Sew lengthwise to create a second strip set, placing the light strip in the middle. Press seam allowances towards the dark strips.
- Square up one end of the strip set and cut sixteen 1" segments from it.
- Assemble the nine patch blocks by sewing a Step 2 segment to each side of a Step 4 segment. Press seam allowances towards the center unit.
- Repeat to make a total of sixteen nine patch blocks.
Seam Allowance Option
If you don't like the bulk of the 1/4" seam allowances, trim them back to about 3/16" before you cut units from strip sets.
