Rocky Glen Quilt Layout

The drawing on this page illustrates one layout for 25 Rocky Glen quilt blocks. They are arranged in five rows and each row contains five blocks. Red triangles "point" outwards from each side of a group that comes together to form an on-point red square. That group is placed off-center in the quilt.

There are numerous other layout choices for the quilt blocks, so use a design wall to experiment a bit before you decide that this arrangement suits you. But if it does, arrange the blocks side by side as shown.

  1. Sew the quilt blocks in each row together, matching all seams carefully.

  2. Sew the rows together, matching all seams carefully.

  3. Press the quilt.

Finish the Rocky Glen Quilt

Decide if you would like to sew a hanging sleeve on the quilt's back.

Mark for quilting if necessary. Sandwich the quilt with batting and backing. Quilt by hand or machine. Trim and square-up excess edges and sew binding strips around the quilt edges.
