Midnight Blues Quilt

Janet Wickell

Midnight Blues Quilt Pattern

Midnight Blues is a patchwork quilt that's assembled by sewing 20 straight-set quilt blocks into five rows and separating them with sashing and cornerstones. Two borders are added to complete the design.

You'll choose six fabrics -- in the example all but one are in shades of blue and blue-green. The yellow/gold fabric contains splotches of green along with deep blue/black dots that help connect it with the other selections.

The quilt's components are all quick-pieced. Nine patch units (center squares and bar units they touch) are strip pieced, and the sandwich method is used to assemble half square triangle units. Finished Block Size: 9" x 9"

Finished Quilt Size: 59" x 79"

Alter the number of blocks and/or borders to change the quilt size.
