Sew together the Jigsaw Puzzle quilt blocks.

Janet Wickell
  1. Sew the components of each quilt block together. First, sew the three squares in a block's middle section together and press carefully (any direction). Now sew each block's two 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" bars lengthwise to opposite sides of the middle section. Press seam allowances towards the bars (upper row of illustration shows block components).

  2. Keep your design intact by working on one quilt block at a time and placing it back into the layout after it is assembled. When all blocks are complete, sew components of rows together.

  3. Press new seam allowances in adjoining rows in opposite directions. Join the rows. Press.

  4. Mark the top for quilting if necessary. Sandwich with batting and backing and quilt. Finish by applying the binding (How to Bind a Quilt).
