Quilt Block Cutting Instructions
43" strips refers to selvage to selvage fabric strips. Do not trim length from longer strips.Dark Blue

- Cut (1) 2-1/2" x 32" strip
- Cut (2) 2-1/2" x 28" strips
Gray-Blue
- Cut (6) 2-1/2" x 43" strips
- Cut (2) 4-1/2" x 32" strips
- Cut (1) 2-1/2" x 28" strip
- Sew a 2-1/2" x 43" strip lengthwise to a gray-blue strip of the same length. Press seam allowance towards the dark strip.
- Square up one end of the strip set and cut (16) 2-1/2" segments from it.
- Make two more identical strip sets. Cut a total of (48) 2-1/2" segments.
- Sew a 2-1/2" x 43" dark strip lengthwise to each side of a light strip of the same length. Press seam allowances towards dark strips.
- Square up one end of the strip set and cut (9) 4-1/2" segments from it.
- Repeat to make another identical strip set and cut (9) more 4-1/2" segments.
- Use (2) 2-1/2" x 28" dark strips and a light strip of the same size to make a strip set of the same configuration as above. Cut (6) 4-1/2" segments from it.
If your fabric does not have a usable width of 43", use selvage-width cuts for all strips, rather than making two long strips sets and one that is shorter. The extra length also offers more opportunity for squaring up the leading edge as you cut.
- Sew a 4-1/2" x 32" light strip to each side of a 2-1/2" x 32" dark strip. Press seam allowances towards the dark.
- Square up one end of the set and cut (12) 2-1/2" segments from it.
