- Cut a 29-1/2"" x 29-1/2" red square. Cut twice diagonally as illustrated to create four triangles with the fabric's straight grain running parallel to the longest edges.
- Center and sew a triangle to each side of the quilt block. Press seam allowances towards the setting triangles.
- Use my straight border instructions to add two borders to the quilt, beginning with a narrow inner border created from 1-1/2" wide strips of the dark green floral fabric. Use 3-1/2" wide strips of the red fabric to make the outer border. Beginners, don't be tempted to measure the quilt along its outer edges, because it is likely skewed a bit. Borders give you the opportunity to square it up.
- Read How to Sew a Hanging Sleeve and decide which method you would prefer to use. Incorporate the instructions into your final work.
- Mark the quilt top for quilting if necessary. Sandwich with batting and backing. Quilt and bind.
