Cutting Instructions for Quilt Blocks

Always begin by cutting only enough fabric to make a test block or two.

Barrister Quilt Blocks Make 32 blocks

Black tone on tone:

  • (64) 6-1/8" x 6-1/8" squares
  • (384) 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" squares (or 384 slightly larger squares in order to make oversize units and then trim back for accuracy)

Mottled greenish-gold print:

  • (64) 6-1/8" x 6-1/8" squares
  • (192) 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" squares (or larger to match black squares if cut oversize)

Sky blue tone on tone:

  • (192) 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" squares (or larger, see notes above)

Red tone on tone:

  • (128) 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" squares

Cutting Instructions for Setting and Corner Triangles

Mottled greenish-gold print:

  • (4) 21" x 21" squares for setting triangles; cut each square in half twice diagonally (two will not be used)
  • (2) 10-3/4" x 10-3/4" squares for corner triangles; cut each square in half once diagonally
