Easy Quilt Pattern
Straight grain pieces help make this an easy quilt pattern, since there are no stretchy bias edges to deal with. It's one of many quilt patterns on the Quilting Web site that are a good choice for beginning quilters who want to practice their rotary cutting and strip piecing skills. If you're a beginner, read a few important tutorials before you make this quilt:

The strips used in the quilt block finish at 2" in width; the sashing strips and cornerstones finish at 1-1/2". New quilters sometimes find it easier to cut narrow strips of fabric from fat quarters or along the lengthwise grain of fabric, rather than from the folded yardage typically used to cut long strips.
Finished Quilt Block: 10" x 10"

Quilting Fabrics
I rarely design quilts in all-solid fabrics, and hardly ever even use solid fabrics, unless I'm working on an Amish style quilt. Writing the pattern for the Amish Baskets Quilt just a week before publishing this easy quilt pattern must have stuck with me just a bit, because Red Light/Green Light is also stitched in solids. Do change its colors and theme to make the pattern suit your needs.Materials
