Add a Couple of Strips to the Units You Just Made

Flying Geese Quilt Block

Flying Geese Quilt Block

Now let's dress up the Flying Geese units a bit.

  1. Find the (20) deep red and (20) deep golden orange bars you cut back on page 2 -- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" each.

  2. Position a Flying Geese unit with the black geese pointing upwards. Sew an orange bar to the left side of the unit and a red bar to the right side.

  3. If you foundation pieced the Flying Geese, remove the paper foundations.

  4. Press. The block should measure 4-1/2" x 4-1/2". Make a total of 20 blocks.

Do you have a digital camera handy? How about sending me a photo of the units you've made so far? I think other members of the quilting community would like to take a peek.
