Print Quilt Patterns Without all the Extra Text

I receive quite a few Emails asking for a way to print our quilt patterns without including ads and extra text. The quilt patterns are in a format that makes printing easy.

  1. Go to the pattern page you want to print and click on the "print this page" link within the About.com page. You'll find it to the right of the pattern usually near the top of the page, and there's a little graphic of a printer next to it.

  2. Click on the link and the page will pop up optimized for print, without all the ads and sidebars.

  3. Print the page. If you get unnecessary links at the bottom of the page, try printing page 1 to 1 only the next time -- that's usually enough to get the actual pattern details (and I think whether or not those links print depends on the Internet browser you are using to view the pages).
Be sure not to use the print command in your browser header or in the header's toolbar -- use only the link command on the About.com page. Test it out on the string piecing page. The link should be just to the right of the photo.

The same box includes a link you can use to subscribe to my newsletter or RSS feed.
