Quilt block patterns are versatile. Individual quilt blocks are perfect when you're making a scrap quilt, and don't need cutting instructions for lots of identical blocks, and single block patterns work nicely for quilt block swaps and for sampler quilts.
Many of my free quilt block patterns go a step beyond one-block instructions to include the details you need to make multiple blocks, like Lady in Red, the Six-Inch Scrappy Hearts.
You'll find miniature quilt block patterns and patterns for big blocks, like a 35" square Bear's Paw. Many of my quilt block patterns include instructions for multiple sizes.
To make multiples of any quilt block, see How to Calculate Yardage. My other quiltmaking articles will help you design a quilt:
You'll find patterns for entire quilts in my Free Quilt Patterns archive.
I'm constantly adding new quilt block patterns to this index, so be sure to check back often.
