You'll cut sixteen 2-inch squares for each block, and that should help you use up a bunch of those little leftover pieces that are tucked away in boxes and bins. Three squares will be black, to give patches in the final quilts a definitive punch, but the remaining fabric choices are pretty much wide open (with just a couple of exceptions).
