Quilt Block Patterns

Fully Illustrated Quilt Block Patterns

By , About.com Guide

Quilt block patterns are handy when you make a scrap quilt, because you don't need cutting instructions for lots of identical blocks. Patterns for individual blocks also work nicely when you want to organize a swap with fellow quilters, for sampler quilts and for times when you wish to design your own layout rather than follow a pattern for an entire quilt.

Many of my quilt block patterns go a step beyond one-block instructions, and include the details you need to make either multiple blocks or an entire quilt. You'll find designs of all sizes in my pattern archives, from miniatures to oversize blocks. Subscribe to my quilting newsletter for regular updates, because there's something new every week.

If you're looking for patterns for entire quilts, see my quilt patterns index, and if you're a beginning quilter, refer to my quilt making tutorials to learn how to make a quilt.
