About.com Quilting Forum

This illustration shows you two messages from a conversation in our Quilting Forum. You'll notice that the messages are strung together, and there are more messages before and after the two you can see.

You can view a long string of messages (also called posts) when you are signed in with your User Name and password. Notice the blue page numbers underneath the bottom message; each of those page numbers represents a page full of messages, from the earliest messages in the topic to the most recent.

When you sign in as a Guest, each of the blue page links represents one message, making it a little more time consuming to read everything in the topic.

Beneath each message you'll see a Reply link to use if you would like to join the conversation. You can reply to the original sender or choose someone else. When you reply, you'll see a dropdown box with the names of forums members who post most often. Another reply options is sending the message to All members.

The Options link at the bottom of each message allows you to quickly set preferences about the topic or a specific member (more about options links). You won't see an Edit link or a Delete icon unless the message belongs to you.

Forum Glossary for This Page
