The hostesses who manage swaps on the About Quilting Forum are registered with the Guide. They get together online to brainstorm about potential swaps and to help each other when problems occur.
You might be surprised at the variety of quilt-related exchanges that take place on our forum. Some swaps are for sewn items and others are for fabrics and other unsewn projects. My article about the Ins and Outs of Quilt Swaps will help you understand how exchanges work.
New hostesses can apply at any time and will be mentored by someone who's been there, done that. Please be sure you've successfully participated in at least three swaps on the About Quilting Forum before applying to be a host.
Not all hostesses manage swaps at any given time. Hosting is a volunteer effort, and can be very time consuming. Everyone enjoys hosting, or they wouldn't do it, but they often need a break. Please be sure to say "thank you" to your hostess when you enjoy one of their swaps -- this group of volunteers is a huge reason why this Forum is so successful, and I'm sure I don't thank them as often as I should.
