In Color-Splashed Quilts, the author combines patchwork with bold, fused appliqué. The projects are suitable for quilters of all skill levels.

Quilt Projects

You'll find seven quilt projects in Color-Splashed Quilts. All of the quilts are designs that children will love, but most will work for adults, too. You'll find whimsical objects and animals scattered throughout the projects. I love the colorful elephant border in one quilt, and the figure skates in another, but my personal favorite is the quilt with big, bold flowers shown on the quilt's front cover.

Assembly Methods and Instructions

The author uses quick piecing techniques for patchwork, and explains how to fuse or hand-sew the appliqué to your project. Like most pattern books, the basic instructions in Color-Splashed Quilts are short and to-the-point, but they tell you what you need to know to finish your quilts.

Illustrations & Final Words

The book is well illustrated, with drawings to help you assemble units and photos of finished quilts for inspiration. The quilts truly are color-splashed, and the bold tones are appealing. The author's fabric choices show us how to combine colors and textures to produce visually stimulating quilts.
