Heart in a Snowball Quilt Block

The February, 2009 Beginner Block Lotto design is a 6" x 6" (finished size) Snowball block with purple tips on a white-on-white background. A red heart is appliqued at the block's center.

For each block, you'll need:

  • One 7" x 7" square of white on white fabric
  • One (approximate) 4-1/2" x 5" red print square for heart
  • Four 2" x 2" purple print squares for Snowball corners

Cut only one WoW square and one red print square to start; adjust sizes up or down if necessary after assembling one block.

You may use the same WoW fabric in all blocks you make for the lotto. You may repeat reds and purples as long as individual blocks are unique. See the February, 2009 Block Lotto Discussion in the Forum for full details.
