Introduction to the Flying Geese Variation

Flying Geese Variation

Janet Wickell
This variation of the Flying Geese quilt block, with a center strip of geese bordered on each side by strips, can be assembled with quick-piecing techniques or with foundation piecing.

Fabric Choices

Two different fabrics for each block: one for Geese and the other for the side strips -- or any fabrics of your choice.

Foundation Pieced Blocks

Download the PDF file for foundation piecing. When you print the file, make sure your printer doesn't scale it -- print at 100%. The image in the printout should measure 6-1/2" x 6-1/2".

If you're a new foundation piecer, be sure to read Foundation Piecing Basics before you begin.
