The May Beginner Block Lotto in our general Quilting Forum is based on my
Scrappy Baskets quilt block, with a few changes:
Light Background Fabric
Use a cream or tan
tone-on-tone print fabric.
Basket Fabric
The basket base and its logs are made from a tan or brown print fabric. The fabric can contain other colors, but should "read" as (appear to be) tan or brown when viewed from a distance.
Make sure there's good contrast between the basket and background fabrics.
