Take a look at the wonderful quilts on display in About.com Quilting's online quilt show. Thanks so much to everyone who has shared quilts for our galleries. Keep those quilt photos coming!
Alzheimer's Quilts Challenge
JulietDeltaOscar, a member of our Quilting Forums, challenged other members to make a small quilt for Ami Simm's Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative, a project that has raised thousands of dollars for this important research. All of the quilts in this Alzheimer's Quilts Gallery were (or will be) auctioned to help raise money for Alzheimer's research.
Cancer Awareness Quilts
All of these quilts were made to heighten awareness for cancer research and to remind us to check what needs to be checked. Some quilts are dedicated to specific individuals and some were donated to fund raising events. Other quilts were made by cancer survivors to chronicle their journey with the disease.
Quilts from The About.com Guide to Quilting
I'd like to introduce you to the About.com Guide to Quilting, part of a series of books based on our Web sites. It's primarily a technique book that takes you step by step though the quiltmaking process, plus covers specific techniques such as appliqué, foundation (paper) piecing, string piecing, rag quilting and lots more. Some of our Forum Hostesses helped me make the project quilts you'll find in the book, and their work illustrates that everyone interprets a pattern differently to create his or her own unique project.
Christmas Quilts
You'll see lots of lovely Christmas Quilts -- and other quilts with a winter theme -- in this gallery of quilts made by members of the online quilting community.
One-Patch Quilts
The quilts in this photo gallery are one-patch quilts -- all made by repeating the same patch over and over throughout the quilt. Portions of a patch are sometimes used around a quilt's jagged edges, but that doesn't take away from it's one-patch status.
