From Vang: This is my first king size all hand quilted quilt. I made it for my son Michael's wedding. I wanted to make him and his bride a special quilt and I sent Kelly three star patterns and asked her to pick one. She picked the Ohio Star pattern. She also chose two colors and I chose fabrics in those colors. There quilt has 56 blocks; 30 blocks with pictures are in the center of the quilt, including 12 pictures each of Michael and Kelly from infant to adult.
I alternated the pictures of Kelly and Michael from young to older, surrounding 6 pictures in the center of the quilt of Kelly and Michael together while they were dating. It took me 2-1/2 months to get everything together and 4-1/2 months to hand quilt it. I almost worked it day and night to finish on time -- and I did it.
