From Darolyn: Our minister is great. He helped my sister and me work through our grief of losing our mother in 2005, helped our congregation move from traditional to blended worship and encouraged me to go on a mission trip to Honduras earlier this year. So in gratitude for his pastoring, I wanted to do something special for his wife and him when they started their family. I made this baby quilt for their first child, a little girl, who was born in 2007. I selected the Scrappy Irish Chain pattern because he is Irish. I quilted it by stitching in the ditch as well as stitching heart shapes in the white spaces. The pattern is from the book Bits & Pieces Quilt, a Quilt in a Day publication. It's finished size is 48 x 48.
