Marbling Rakes and Combs

By , About.com Guide

An assortment of marbling combs, homemade and commercial.

The tool near the front of the photo is a commercially made comb, with short teeth spaced exactly 1/4" apart. The peacock rake, with its two rows of staggered teeth, is near it. Under that is a standard rake and at the bottom is a comb made by glueing T-pins to a wooden strip, 1/2" apart, then placing another strip on top of the pin heads to help keep them secured.
