Hand Marbling on Cotton Fabrics

Learn How to Make Hand Marbled Fabric

By , About.com Guide

This marbling photo gallery shows you how to make one-of-a-kind hand marbled fabrics to use in your quilts and other sewing projects. My step by step photos help you see the marbling process from beginning to end, but they don't convey all of the story. You'll find detailed marbling instructions in this gallery's companion marbling article.

Finely woven fabrics made from natural fibers are the best choice for marbling. Try pima cottons and even silks (some marblers have long, narrow trays constructed especially for making silk scarves).
