Singer Featherweight sewing machines are a quilter's favorite, and you'll often see lots of them at quilting workshops. Tiny by today's standards, at first encounter you might think Singer Featherweights are toys, but they are actually rugged workhorses that sew a consistently good straight stitch.
Singer's Featherweight sewing machines changed somewhat in appearance during the years they were manufactured, and were available in black, tan, white and green (those are the original Featherweight colors I've seen). Their faceplates differ depending on the year built -- some are metal with a scrollwork design and later Featherweights have faceplates decorated with vertical lines.
