Crazy Quilts
Crazy quilts became popular during the late 1800's. To make a crazy quilt, quilters sew pieces of fabric onto a plain unmarked foundation. Fancy stitching and embellishments are commonly used between patches. Velvets, satins and other lush fabrics are favorites, but crazy quilts can be made from any fabric you choose.
"Bead Creative Art Quilts," by Nancy Eha
I think we often envision how beads and other embellishments would look on our quilts, but we don't try it because we aren't quite sure how to get what's in our heads onto the face of a quilt. Nancy Eha's book, Bead Creative Art Quilts, gets you there with ease.
