For each block, you'll need:
- (13) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" dark squares
- (12) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" dark squares
- Arrange the squares into five rows as shown, each with five patches. Three rows begin and end in a dark; three rows begin and end in a light.
- Sew patches in each row together and press seam allowances towards the dark squares.
- Sew the rows together, matching seams carefully. Press. The quilt block should measure 10-1/2" x 10-1/2".
- Repeat to make additional blocks.
