Sawtooth Star Quilt Block Pattern
Sawtooth Star is one of the most popular traditional quilt blocks you'll encounter, and because the design is so popular, you'll find many variations, including this star with a 16-patch unit at its center.The star's center unit can be strip pieced or sewn together square-by-square. Star tips are created from quick pieced Flying Geese. Block corners are plain squares.

Star tips, dark blue: (4) 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squaresBlock corners, med-light blue print: (4) 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squares
Flying Geese backgrounds (same) med-light blue print: 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" rectangles
16-Patch Center, white/blue dots: (8) 2" x 2" squares; blue stripe: (8) 2" x 2" squares
OPTION: For a strip pieced 16-patch center, replace the 2" squares with (2) 2" x 9" strips of each fabric: white/blue dots and blue stripe.
