If you don't want to make flying geese, additional half-square triangle units can be substituted in outer rows. The difference? You'll have a vertical seam between those units, taking away some of the block's fluidity.
I've included cutting instructions for multiple block sizes and examples of two potential layouts, one on-point and another with blocks that are horizontally set. You can create a scrappy quilt by varying fabrics from block to block.
