Turning Nines Into a Seven - Free Quilt Block Pattern

Finish Assembling the Quilt Block

  1. Strip Set C Sew a the 4-1/2" side of a 4-1/2" x 5" light background piece to the 4-1/2" edge of the 2" x 4-1/2" dark strip.

  2. Repeat, sewing the remaining 4-1/2" x 5" light background piece to the other side of the dark strip. Press seam allowance towards the center.

  3. Square up one end of the strip and cut two 2" segments from it.

  4. Arrange three rows of components as shown above, turning nine-patch units so that top and bottom rows are mirror images of each other. Sew rows together and press.

  5. Assemble another block with the remaining pieces.
