- Draw a line from one corner to the opposite corner on the reverse side of your eight background squares.
- Use my easy sandwich method to pair each background square with a square cut for the spokes of your pinwheels. Each completed unit should measure 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" for the 8" block or 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" for the 24-inch block.
- Sort your triangle squares, keeping like units together. Arrange the squares into four rows as shown, each row with four squares.
- Sew the components of each row together. Press seam allowances in adjoining rows in opposite directions. Be sure to press carefully to avoid stretching the rows out of shape.
- Sew the rows together to complete the block. The 8-inch (finished size) block should measure 8-1/2" x 8-1/2"; the 24-inch (finished size) block should measure 24-1/2" x 24-1/2".
- Make additional blocks as needed for a quilt.
