Framed Nine Patch Quilt Block Pattern
The easy Framed Nine Patch quilt block is made from all straight-sided patches (squares and bars). It's perfect for beginners, and can be designed with an orderly fabric arrangement or as a scrap quilt.This Framed Nine Patch finishes at 7-1/2" x 7-1/2", perfect for a baby quilt or quilt for a child, but suitable for any type of project you want to design.
Framed Nine Patch Fabrics and Cutting
This would be a very easy quilt to make from strip pieced segments, but for this single-block pattern we'll assemble it patch by patch -- a good method for scrap quilts (the most frequent use for single block patterns).Look on page 3 for an example of the block in a baby quilt -- I'll write strip pieced directions for that when it's published (sometime in early April, 2009).
