Assemble the Quilt Block
- Position the flying geese unit with its dark triangle pointing down. Sew a dark-warm square to its left end and a medium-cool square to its right end. Press seam allowances towards the squares. Repeat to make a total of six more identical units.
- Sew a flying geese unit to each side of a nine-patch unit, orienting the triangles to point away from the nine-patch units as shown.
- Press seam allowances toward the nine patch unit. Repeat to assemble three identical units.
- Sew a narrow row assembled in Step 1 to each side of the block, matching seams carefully. Dark triangles should point outward. Press the block and make two more.
