Use 2-1/2" Wide Fabric Noodles to Make an 18" Double Nine-Patch Quilt Block

Do you collect 2-1/2" wide fabric noodles? The Double Nine-Patch quilt block is a perfect place to use them, we just need to up the block size a bit.

Finished Block Size: 18" x 18"

Cutting Instructions Make Three Quilt Blocks

For Small Nine-Patch Units

Dark:[/b

  • four 2-1/2" x 42" strips
  • two 2-1/2" x 21" strips

Light:

  • one 2-1/2" x 42" strip
  • two 2-1/2" x 42" strips

For Plain Squares

Light as shown, or any color you choose:

  • Cut two 6-1/2" x 42" strips of fabric; square up one end of each strip and then cut twelve 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" squares from the strip

Review the block assembly instructions on page 2, but note a few differences:

  • Strip Set A: Make two strip sets; cut a total of thirty 2-1/2" segments from the sets

  • Strip Set B: You'll still only need one strip set, but cut fifteen 2-1/2" segments from it.

  • Make three blocks, not two. Each block should measure 18-1/2" x 18-1/2".
