Assemble the Double Nine Patch Quilt Block
- Arrange the five small nine patch units and four neutral squares into three rows as shown. To make the block illustrated, the navy squares should "point" to the center of the block, and red squares should be closer to the center than yellow squares. (Feel free to experiment by switching the units around to see if you prefer a different orientation.)
- Sew the components of each row together. Press seam allowances towards the neutral squares.
- Sew the rows together. Press. the quilt block should measure 11-3/4" x 11-3/4".
