Quilt Patterns - Hour Glass Quilt Block Pattern
This Hour Glass quilt block pattern finishes at 13-1/2" square. The pattern includes instructions for one block, plus yardages and instructions to make 18 of the blocks for the California Hourglass quilt (see page 3 for a preview). That quilt pattern alternates the Hour Glass block with California Crossroads blocks.Always cut only enough fabric for a sample block; make the sample before cutting all of the fabric for your quilt.
Fabrics for One Hour Glass Quilt Block
Deep blue: (2) 5" x 5" squares; (1) 5-3/8" x 5-3/8" squareLight lilac: (1) 5-3/8" x 5-3/8" square; draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite corner on the reverse of the square
Mottled blue/purple: (1) 5" x 5" squares
Darker bluish-green: (4) 5" x 5" squares
