I first saw this pretty quilt block within the quilt barn trails of Sac County, Iowa, on a barn built over 100 years ago. The barn has the unique history of always being owned by a woman... a perfect structure to hold a quilt.
A traditional design, the block has been known by several names over the years, depending on the variations used in its central patchwork. The block is easy to assemble using quick piecing techniques.
Finished block size: 12" x 12"
