Antique Tile Quilt Block Pattern

Antique Tile was the sixth quilt block pattern for the Scrap Happy Sampler Quilt, but please feel free to use it to make a quilt of your own design. You'll find that Antique Tile blocks are very scrap-friendly, so grab your stash and look for the fabric you'll need to cut its patches.

Mix up the fabrics as much as you like.

Finished block size: 12" x 12"

Burgundy: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles; (1) 2-1/2" x 11" strip

Gold print: (1) 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" square; (1) 2-1/2" x 11" strip

Green print: (1) 2-1/2" x 19" strip*

Light print: (1) 2-1/2" x 19" strip*

*If you're using half yards of fabric for the green and the light, and they were cut slightly wider than 18", you can probably use that width -- be sure to carefully sew and square up the strip set they are a part of (see page 2).

OPTION: Using Small Scraps Instead of Strips

Burgundy: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles; (4) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares

Gold print: (1) 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" square; (4) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares

Green print: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles

Light print: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles
