Intro to the Antique Tile Quilt Block Pattern

Antique Tile is the sixth quilt block pattern for the Scrap Happy Sampler Quilt. Antique Tile is another design that is very scrap-friendly, so grab your stash and look for the scraps you'll need to cut its patches.

My Antique Tile quilt block has an orderly-scrappy layout, but feel free to mix up the fabrics as much as you like.

Finished block size: 12" x 12"

Burgundy: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles; (1) 2-1/2" x 11" strip

Gold print: (1) 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" square; (1) 2-1/2" x 11" strip

Green print: (1) 2-1/2" x 19" strip*

Light print: (1) 2-1/2" x 19" strip*

*If you're using half yards of fabric for the green and the light, and they were cut slightly wider than 18", you can probably use that width -- be sure to carefully sew and square up the strip set they are a part of (see page 2).

OPTION: Using Small Scraps Instead of Strips

Burgundy: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles; (4) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares

Gold print: (1) 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" square; (4) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares

Green print: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles

Light print: (4) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles
